Omani silver jewellery is unique. They are mainly worn by the women and are partly to be looked at as decoration, partly as savings. They are all made of silver, eventually gold plated.
This chain is put on top of the head with the hook in the back of the head. The two big
'things' are 'ear rings'. They are too heavy to be worn hanging from the ears, therefore
the chain.
A simpler model of the above.
These 'ear rings' are produced in different shapes although the differences are minimal.
This is a wrist chain with orange corals.
Another type of wrist 'chain'.
These big 'things' are ankle rings. This pair weighs 750 gram together. These ankle rings
have previously been worn daily by the women. Now they are only seen at celebrations and
great festivals.
Finger rings are of a more modest size. There is a certain standard of five types (or
shapes). Each of them dedicated to a certain finger.
